 Guanajuato, Mexico in the Central Highlands of Mexico

What
 Language immersion program for beginning and intermediate speakers
 Backpacking and camping in the mountains
 Cultural exploration and immersion
 Home stay with a host family in Guanajuato City
 Community service at an orphanage in San Miguel Allende

Additional activities include
 Attend cultural workshops on cooking, pottery and salsa dancing
 Horseback ride through a silver mining ghost town

 High school and/or three college credits with Lesley University
 30+ community service hours
Academic Evaluation
 Oral and written exam, reading and oral comprehension, daily participation, journal
Experience required
 No experience required; no Spanish pre-requisite

Who
 Teens finishing grades 8 and 9–12, grouped into separate trips of 10-12 participants by age

When
21 day trips starting in June and July for grades 9–12, 14 day option for 8th graders
Cost
 $4,280 for 21 day trips, $3,780 for 14 day trips
Additional Information
 This Academic Treks program includes home stays and/or time spent in cities. As with all Academic Treks programs, our strict rules regarding maintaining a healthy atmosphere apply. Conduct such as drinking or smoking is not permitted.
