Travel Information

With limited group sizes, our programs often fill quickly. We recommend you plan your trip early and reserve a spot as soon as possible. How to enroll in an Academic Treks adventure:

  1. Check availability. Call us at 888-833-1907 to see if there is space available in trips that interest you.
  2. Matching goals and expectations. When you call us we conduct an interview to make sure the trip you’ve chosen is the best fit for your goals and expectations in a variety of areas including age, experience level, course design, group dynamics, behavior and participation, and travel logistics.
  3. Submit your deposit. We require a $1000 deposit to reserve your spot until we can confirm your application. You may pay the deposit over the phone with a Visa or Mastercard or through the online application process. If you elect to mail your deposit, we recommend overnight mail.
  4. Submit your application. Your spot is not guaranteed until we receive and review your application. Fill out our online application or download an application to complete and mail to Academic Treks. The participant and parents or legal guardian should carefully read and agree to the terms of agreement on the application. If you choose to mail your application, we recommend overnight mail.
  5. Confirmation. After we receive your application, an enrollment support coordinator will contact you to confirm your enrollment and send you a packet of forms and information for your trip including a packing list. Our enrollment support team will be your resource for any questions, comments or concerns you have before your adventure.
  6. Travel arrangements. We require you to book your air travel through our travel partner, Beeline Travel. They will work with you personally to get you competitive airfares, coordinate your teen’s flights with other participants when possible and organize the group airfares required for many programs. See Travel Information for details.
  7. Travel insurance. We require our participants to purchase inexpensive travel and emergency medical assistance insurance. See Travel Insurance for more information.
  8. Tuition. The balance of your tuition is due March 1 or upon enrollment if you enroll after March 1. You may pay your tuition by check or bank wire. Tuition is considered late after March 10 or 21 days after paying your deposit if you enroll after March 1. Late tuition balances will be charged to your credit card on file, plus a 2.7% fee. Please note that international, domestic and in-country air travel costs are not include in your tuition.
  9. Keep in touch. Call us anytime to discuss your questions and concerns as you prepare for your program.
  10. Get set for an unforgettable adventure! It’s our goal to surpass your expectations for your summer experience.

I am not ready to enroll, but am very interested. What should I do next?

  1. Learn more! Call us at 888-833-1907 to discuss our variety of summer adventures that cater to different ages, interests, abilities and experience levels. Request a brochure. Although all of our program information is contained in our website, it’s often easier to make your decision if you have our printed brochure.
  2. Contact references. Most of our participants come to us through word of mouth or are alumni or siblings of alumni. If Broadreach is new to you, please email or call us so we can send you a list of references.
  3. Don’t wait. Our trips can fill quickly. With a small group size of 10-14 participants and a balanced ratio of males to females, there is limited availability for your teen in any trip.
